Today we did DOL #7 and we brainstormed the list of significant moments as a class in the "Red Bandanna" clip and wrote our summaries individually. Today I taught the class how to write your summaries for your book review. Then we watched the E60 clip "The Red Bandanna" and wrote a summary of the clip. Also, we did DOL 6. Today we did DOL 6 and took two different pretests (that took the entire class period.) We took a reading and writing pretest and then an ACT Pretest. The ACT Pretest was 38 questions and should have taken the last 45 minutes of the period. If you didn't take these, make sure that you come in and take them this week during flex sometime.
Day 6: Our generation Writer's notebook and Dystopian novels powerpoint notes (Sept 4 and 5)9/9/2018 Today we did DOL 5 and took notes on the elements of dystopian novels in preparation for our reading of the Hunger Games. To end class, we watched an interview Conan O' Brien did where he talked about our society today and responded whether we agree or not with it in the writer's notebook. Make sure that you get those notes for the writer's notebook. |
