Today we read TFIOS and took Quiz #8 for the reading. We spent the rest of the class period working on our first drafts of our character eulogies. Just a reminder that the last day to turn in any late work for this term is this Friday, March 1, by 2:30 PM. Also, if you are participating in the Battle of the Books, the next Battle is Tuesday, March 5 for sophomores and Wednesday, March 6 for juniors.

Today we read and took Quiz #7 for TFIOS. I presented your final project for The Fault in our Stars, a character eulogy, and we brainstormed ideas for that eulogy in Writer's Notebook #13. Remember that the last day to turn in late work is this Friday, March 1. Any late work turned in afterward won't be accepted.
Today we read TFIOS and took Quiz #6. Afterward, we discussed the reading and read and annotated the poem, "A Certain Slant of Light" by Emily Dickinson. Make sure that you get that poem from me.
Today we took Quiz #5 for TFIOS and I showed the class an example of a well-written summary. We then edited each other's summaries and then workshopped our own. Make sure that you've sent me your summary so I can grade it.

At the end of class, we wrote book summaries for The Price of Dawn or An Imperial Affliction and turned them in as an assignment. Make sure that you follow the summary strategy to write your summary.
Today we continued our discussion about hyphens and took the third quiz for TFIOS. The last half of class, we analyzed the plots of The Price of Dawn and An Imperial Affliction in preparation for writing our creative summaries for both books. Next time, we'll be typing those summaries and sharing them over Google docs.
