I presented the final assignment for the year and we worked on it the entire class period. We also reflected back on the eulogies.

Today we took Quiz #8 for TFIOS and drafted our eulogies. Your first draft of your eulogy is due on Friday so that we can peer review each other's speeches.
Today we took TFIOS Quiz #7 and discussed the reading. We read through some example eulogies and discussed what you needed in your eulogies. To end class, we brainstormed ideas for our eulogies in our writer's notebooks. The next two class periods will be spent working on those eulogies.
Today we took Quiz #6 for TFIOS and began analyzing our characters for our eulogies. The writer's notebook was your eulogy brainstorm and proposal.
Today we took Quiz 5 for TFIOS and discussed the final project for this book. In preparation, we watched a few eulogies and, in the writer's notebook, discussed what the people said in their eulogies that we could put in ours. The videos are below.. Day 15: TFios Quiz #4, "A certain slant of light" annotation, and the Swingset ad (APril 27)5/2/2018 Today we took Quiz #4 for TFIOS and read and annotated a poem from Emily Dickinson that supposedly was the inspiration for the title of Peter Van Houten's eponymous book An Imperial Affliction. To end class, we discussed the swingset ad in this reading and I passed out an extra credit opportunity to create a FUNNY swingset-type ad. You can get these handouts from class.
