Welcome back! Hope that your holiday was amazing. Today we went to the library and did a scavenger hunt to browse books that might be worth reading this term. You'll need to get a packet from the manila folders on the wall near the door and complete the scavenger hunt. There is a different packet for honors than there is for the regular classes. Have fun!

Today we continued working on Discussion Day #4 and I reviewed the requirements for your final presentations. The rest of the day was a work day to work on and attempt to finish your final presentation. Next class, they are due.
Today we held discussion day #3 and turned in our packets for points. Then we discussed the archetypal situations assignment and turned it in. Next class we'll hold a work day and you'll want to bring something to create your powerpoint presentation on (i.e. laptop, phone, etc).
Today we did DOL #16 and had a group discussion on archetypal situations in all four books we read this year. Then we started working on our final project presentations for our literature circles.
Day 78: Dol #14, Writer's Notebook #9, and author expert group discussion (April 30 and may 1)5/2/2019 We did DOL #14 today, took notes on archetypal situations for Writer's Notebook #9, and had a group discussion on your final thoughts about your books with a handout. Make sure you email me for the presentation notes so that you can do writer's notebook #9.
Day 77: DOL #13, final project presentation notes, and discussion day #2 (april 26 and 29)4/29/2019 Today we discussed more commonly confused words and did DOL #13. I showed the class an example final project presentation and we took notes on the presentation to know how to create our final presentation. Then we held Discussion Day #2 and discussed our books. Make sure you email me for the final presentation example so you can do Writer's Notebook #8.
day 76: DOL #12, theme discussion, and group discussion of themes in lit circles (April 24 and 25)4/25/2019 Today we did DOL #12 and continued our discussion on theme. I passed back Writer's Notebook #7 and we then had a discussion about the clip we had watched. Then we got into our literature circle groups and discussed themes in the books we've read this year, including the lit circle books we are currently reading. then we turned in that handout stapled to writer's notebook #7.
Today we spent the day discussing and reviewing theme, topic, and main idea. We took notes for writer's notebook #7 and turned in those notes. You will need to send me an email for the powerpoint presentation and notes.
day 74: Dol #11, Discussion day #1, and archetypal characters group discussion (April 18 and 19)4/25/2019 Today we did DOL #11 and had our first discussion day. We turned in our packets for points and then discussed what archetypal characters show up in our books we are reading for literature circles.
