Today I announced that we will be able to work on our final projects in class on Friday, May 4th. We worked on our literature circle packets and had our third discussion day. To end class, we discussed our overall opinions of the book on a handout. Make sure you get that to respond to for your group.

Today we worked on our Literature Circle packet and discussed the final project for this term. I showed the class an example and presented how to do it in-depth. Send me an email so you can look at the example.
Today we had discussion day #2 and discussed some of the themes in the books we've read this year. Turn in your discussion packet for points once you start back and get the themes handout to make up what you missed.
Today we did a kahoot quiz on themes and reviewed how to determine a theme in literature. In Writer's Notebook #6, we brainstormed topics and themes in our of our favorite novels and shared.
Today we wrote our book reports. Make sure that you get the assignment from me and respond on Google Classroom before Thursday at midnight.
Today we had our first discussion about the books we are reading this term. The class turned in their packets and I graded them. Then we had a discussion on archetypal characters (with a handout) and then groups discussed the types of characters in your stories. At the end of class, we turned in the Funko Pop character creation assignment.
Today I explained the Literature Circle packet again because of our field trip and reiterated the importance of filling it out for our discussion days. The first discussion day is this Thursday, April 12. Today, we talked about the importance of characterization and we took notes on types of characterization, as well as character types. For the writer's notebook, we took notes on the presentation, as well as brainstorming our favorite characters of all time. Write down you top 10 characters from literature and cinema. The homework is to create your own character using the handout I provided in class.
I was gone on a field trip today. If you missed, we got our Literature Circle Packets, filled out the packet roles and page numbers, and checked out our Literature Circle books.
