We turned in our book browse assignments today and watched a speech by world-renowned Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel called "The Perils of Indifference." We annotated the speech as we listened and then discussed the main idea and theme of the speech. To end class, we played a memorization game to remember the vocabulary words we learned last term for the DOLs.

Your homework is to take those comments and any other suggestions your peer reviewers made and, using your own creativity, edit your paper extensively for your second draft. Your second draft is due on Friday (A) and Monday (B). You need to highlight the changes that you made to your draft before you turn it in to me. Today we took Quiz #8 of First They Killed My Father, which was all extra credit. The latter part of class we began working on our world urban legends. The first draft of your urban legend is due Wednesday (A) and Thursday (B) of this week. We are going to be editing each other's papers.
