Day 12: Quiz #3, Star wars canon literature, and the final project proposals (November 29)11/30/2017
Today we took Quiz #3 for Lost Stars and discussed the chapter. We finished our discussion on Star Wars Literature, talking about canon literature and how it applies to the Star Wars universe today. To end class, I re-introduced the final project for the term and you proposed two different characters you might want to write about. Oh and we watched the Infinity War trailer.
Today we discussed the second reading for Lost Stars and corrected the fill-in-the-blank Star Wars History activity we did a few class periods ago. To end, we discussed non-canon Star Wars Literature and why it is no longer canon. Next time, we'll talk more about the final project.
Today we took Quiz #1 for Lost Stars and wrote a writer's notebook to prep for our final project for this class. You will need to come in and get the project description and take the quiz when you get back.
Today we turned in our Red Rising books and checked out Lost Stars after taking quizzes 9 and 10 of Red Rising. Then, we went into the commons area and presented our final projects for Red Rising. To end class, we watched a video about Star Wars history to prep for Lost Stars and filled out a handout. You will need to come in and do this for homework if you missed.
Today we took Quiz #8 for Red Rising and talked about the reading. We discussed cyberpunk and steampunk science fiction and continued prepping for your final projects for Red Rising. We will present those projects on Thursday. Bring your costumes, props, and enthusiasm.
Today we took Quiz #7 for Red Rising and started working on our final project. Come in and get the paper that describes the assignment so that you can get started working on it.
Day 6: Red Rising Quiz 6, 90s science fiction, and your favorite scenes in red rising (november 8)11/9/2017
Today we took Quiz 6 for Red Rising and we discussed the chapter in depth. We also discussed 90s Science Fiction and did Writer's Notebook #6 on your favorite scenes in Red Rising to prepare for your final project.
Today we took Red Rising QUiz 5 and discussed the chapters. We discussed another potential Golden Age of Science Fiction and I showed the class how to create their final project for their series reading. To end class, we watched a video about what makes us human and responded. Today we took Quiz 4 for Red Rising and discussed the chapter. We took Bingo notes on Cold War Science Fiction and then brainstormed some ideas for a fictional setting we'd like to visit for the writer's notebook.
Day 3: Red Rising Quiz #3, the golden age of science fiction, and the Laureltide song (October 31)11/1/2017
Today we took Quiz #3 for Red Rising and we discussed the Golden Age of Science Fiction. Then, we finished the Laureltide song in groups and turned it in.
