Day Two is in the Books!  Just wanted to tell you how excited I am for this year. This is my favorite class I've ever taught and I've never taught Science Fiction/Fantasy Literature, which should tell you all that you need to know about me.  During today's class, we turned in our signed disclosure documents, but postponed the disclosure quiz unit Friday.  Make sure you've read the disclosure by then!  I passed out hall passes and explained them, talked about the seating chart, and we got to know names (which I'm hoping to remember a few for Friday.) :)

Also, I talked about one of your bigger assignments: the Series Project.  I did a book talk on four different series I think that you should read.  The series must be off of my list, but can be either Fantasy or Science Fiction.  Then, we did writer's notebook #2, which was proposing your series that you haven't read before that you will like to read.  I also talked about the kinds of series you shouldn't read.  Make sure you look at the disclosure document for more information.  Finally, you have HOMEWORK.  You need to get your permission slip signed for COMIC CON by next time (or you may not get a chance to go).

Finally, we checked out the book we are going to be reading for the first part of this term: The Dragons of Autumn Twilight.  You need to read pages 1-41 for next class period on Friday.  There will be an in-depth quiz every day.
