Today we took the 7th quiz of Red Rising and turned in our donor's choose extra credit. We discussed time travel and alternate reality science fiction, and discussed the final project for red rising.
Today we took Quiz #6 for Red Rising and discussed 90s Science Fiction. I passed out an extra credit assignment and also passed out the permission slips to go to Fantastic Beasts. We ended class with a Writer's Notebook to brainstorm ideas for our final project.

Today we took Quiz #5 and discussed the reading. We discussed 70s and 80s Science Fiction, and we finished the Osgiliath Writing Assignment. You can get the handout from the absent work folders on the side of the classroom.
Today we took Quiz #4 of Red Rising and we discussed Cold War Science Fiction. We then did a writer's notebook where we shared our five favorite fictional settings.
Today we took Quiz #3 of Red Rising and discussed the Golden Age of Fantasy Literature. We finished the Laureltide Song Writing Assignment and turned it in.
day 23: Red rising Quiz #2, the origins of science fiction, and the laureltide song (october 24 and 25)
Today we took Quiz #2 for Red Rising and discussed the origins of science fiction. We did a Writer's Notebook on why science fiction is important and then we started drafting ideas for our Laureltide song. Come get the instructions and handout from the absent work folders.
Today we took our first Red Rising quiz and discussed the first reading. We watched "The Greatest Speech Ever" and annotated the speech and discussed it in groups. We turned in the handout at the end of class.
Today we finished our literature circle presentations and turned in our books and hall passes.
Today we discussed contemporary fantasy literature and turned in our bingo sheets. Afterward, three groups presented their final presentations for literature circles. Next time, I announced that we would just finish the literature circles and postpone the series book talk until the first day of second term.
Today we discussed Harry Potter Literature and we had a table discussion about our literature circle books. The last half of class we worked on our final projects. Be prepared to present on Friday.
