I'm gone to the Bahamas until February 2. During that time, we are going to finish reading the novel and take quizzes 7-9.. We are going to write and peer edit our final project during that time. Once I get back, be sure to have shared your final project with me over Google docs.
Day 7: Ember quiz #5, 90s fantasy literature, and the fellowship of the thing wrap-around story (Jan 22)
Today we took Quiz #5 for An Ember in the Ashes and began discussing the reading. We discussed 90s Fantasy Literature and wrote a wrap-around story for our meeting with Lord Soth. Make sure that you turn in those stories.
Day 6: Quiz #4 for Ember in the ashes, 70s and 80s kids fantasy, and the fellowship of the thing (Jan 17)
Today we took Quiz #4 for An Ember in the Ashes and discussed the reading. Then we talked about 70s and 80s fantasy and filled out our bingo sheets. We ended class by going through the fellowship of the thing activities.
Day five: Quiz #3 of An ember in the ashes, the golden age of fantasy literature, and the fellowship of the thing maze activity (jan 16)
Today we took Quiz #3 for An Ember in the Ashes and discussed the Golden Age of Fantasy Literature. We ended class by doing an activity with the Fellowship of the Thing and turned in our "The Gathering of the Fellowship" short stories.
day 4: Ember in the ashes quiz #2, 30s and 40s fantasy literature, character creation assignment, and your gathering the fellowship summary (Jan 11)
Today we continued our discussion of An Ember in the Ashes and we took Quiz #2. We discussed 30s and 40s Fantasy Literature, and we turned in our character creation assignment. At the end of class, I gave you the rest of the time to finish your "Gathering the Fellowship" Summary Stories. Those are due next class.
day 3: Ember in the ashes Quiz #1, the origins of fantasy literature, and the gathering of the fellowship writing assignment (Jan 9)
Today we signed up (as a class) for reminders on Remind.com. We took Ember in the Ashes Quiz #1 and discussed the reading and then I passed out the History of Fantasy Literature Bingo Sheet and we discussed the assignment and the origins of fantasy literature. To end class, we shared our character creations in our groups and started writing our gathering of the fellowship assignments.
Day 2: The series project, disclosure document, writer's Notebook #1, and the character creation assignment (Jan 7)
Today we turned in the disclosure documents and discussed the series project. We responded to the video, "What do you geek out about?" and we started creating our characters for our fellowship assignments for this term. Make sure you bring your character card completely filled out next time.
Today we did introductions and took a reading survey. I passed out hall passes and did a get-to-know-you activity to end class. Make sure that you read the disclosure document for the quiz next class period.
