Today we took Quiz #2 and discussed the Golden Age of Fantasy. We watched a TED talk from Terry Brooks about why he writes fantasy and then we turned in our character creation assignment and discussed it in groups.
Today I passed out the bookmarks for the reading schedule for An Ember in the Ashes and hall passes for the term. We discussed 30s and 40s fantasy literature and took notes and ended class by brainstorming ideas for our character creation assignment. The character card is DUE next class period on Thursday.

Today we checked out An Ember in the Ashes and discussed your series project. We also talked about and took notes on the origins of fantasy literature and watched a video about the purpose of fantasy literature. We responded to the video and discussed the purpose of fantasy literature. Make sure that you read pages 1-53 for next time so that you're ready for the quiz. Today we got to know each other's names and took a reading survey. We watched a clip and responded to it by talking about what we geek out about. We did a get-to-know activity and ended class by passing out the disclosure documents. You need to get the document signed and read it to get ready for the quiz next time. |
