Today we took Quiz #4 for The Hunger Games. Afterward, I passed back the fanfiction proposals and we discussed brainstorming your drafts. Then, we went to the lab, created a web to brainstorm ideas for your proposed topics, and started typing our stories.
Today we did DOL #22 and took Quiz #3 for The Hunger Games. We discussed the final project for this term, which is to write a fanfiction, and we wrote writer's notebook #12 proposing two separate characters that might be interesting to write about and analyzing another fanfiction film called
Today we did DOL #21 and took Quiz #2 for The Hunger Games. To end class, we watched a fanfiction film called "The Hanging Tree" and analyzed what it adds to the Hunger Games story. This was Writer's Notebook #11.
Today we started talking about commonly confused words and corrected DOL 20. We took Quiz #1 for the Hunger Games and read Shirley Jackson's short story, "The Lottery" and compared and contrasted it to The Reaping in The Hunger Games. We will have a class discussion on it next time.
Today we wrote our Term 2 Book Report in Google Classroom. If you missed, you must write it during flex before next Tuesday, November 21st.
Today we talked about the book report in-depth, outlining what is on the book report and what you can look forward to on Thursday. To end class, we read aloud Kurt Vonnegut's short story "Harrison Bergeron" and had a class discussion (with a handout) on the story.
Today we corrected DOL 19 and presented our conformity projects in class. If you forgot or were absent, you need to present your project to me and turn in your paper to get credit for the assignment. You can't just turn in your response paper.
Today we did DOL 18 and discussed conformity more in-depth. We watched a few clips to cement our understanding of what conformity is and did a writer's notebook about conformity. We defined conformity in the writer's notebook and proposed two ideas for our project due next Monday.
